This Girl swapped the suit for a TUTU

One of the best things to come out of Stars of Newcastle for me, besides raising much needed money for Cancer Council NSW, was my wish to keep dancing.

Dancing was all I was really good at as a kid, I was pretty bad at normal sports , honestly if anyone at school saw me go near a ball they would yell for someone else to hit or throw it!! I was that bad.

But when I was on stage dancing on pointe, or grooving to Jazz Ballet music I was in heaven, this was where I was the most comfortable and I just loved it…no wonder I turned into a Dance Mom!!!

So discovering my love of Ballet late last year and this year has been a joy. Although I may not have my pirouettes perfected…in fact all that spinning makes me very dizzy! The thrill of doing barre work to Bridgerton music is just wonderful to me and throw in some lovely ladies who I do the classes with and some awesome teachers- that is the icing on the cake.

Just goes to show you are never too old to fall back in love with a passion!!

(PS I was so chuffed to wear this tutu…it had been nearly 40 years since I had put one on!!)
